Accessibility at the Fridericianum
The Fridericianum is an open house that aims to offer access to as many visitors as possible.
Admission
People with a degree of disability of more than 50% pay a reduced admission price of 4 euros. Accompanying persons of people whose disability card shows a "B" are admitted free of charge. Assistance dogs are permitted throughout the building.
How to get there
The Fridericianum is located on Friedrichsplatz in Kassel, in the immediate vicinity (200 m) of the "Friedrichsplatz" streetcar stop. Parking spaces are available in the nearby underground parking garage "Friedrichsplatz". A detailed map of the parking lots of the city of Kassel can be found here.
Access routes
Access to the building and the exhibition rooms is possible via an external ramp (approx. 8% gradient) and via two elevators (125 × 145 cm) inside the building.
The doors in the Fridericianum are not automated and therefore cannot be opened automatically. The staff will be happy to help, the service telephone number is: +49 (0) 561 70727 3010.
The Fridericianum does not have a guidance system for people with visual impairments. Guide dogs for the blind are permitted.
Toilets
There are two barrier-free toilets in the basement of the Fridericianum. There is also a barrier-free washroom in the building with a lounger and hoist. The ticket office staff will be happy to help at any time.
Seating
The ticket office offers foldable museum stools to borrow free of charge.
Small children
Children can be fed and breastfed in the café in the rotunda. Changing tables can be found in the barrier-free toilets in the basement.


Accessibility in the documenta archiv
The documenta archiv is an open institution that aims to provide access to as many visitors as possible.
Directions
The documenta archiv is located in the Kulturhaus Dock4 (Untere Karlsstr. 4, 34117 Kassel) in the immediate vicinity (200 m) of the streetcar stops "Friedrichsplatz" and "Königsplatz". Parking spaces are available in the nearby underground parking garage "Friedrichsplatz". A detailed map of the parking lots of the city of Kassel can be found here.
Access routes
Barrier-free access to the building and the reading room is possible via the rear entrance on the courtyard side of the building (Karl-Bernhardi-Straße) and via an elevator (110 × 160 cm, door width 90 cm) inside the building.
The doors in the Kulturhaus Dock4 are not automated and therefore cannot be opened automatically. The staff will be happy to help, the service telephone number is: 0049 (0) 561 70727 3100.
The Kulturhaus Dock4 does not have a guidance system for people with visual impairments. Assistance dogs are permitted.
Toilets
There is a barrier-free toilet on the first floor of Kulturhaus Dock4.

Access
The documenta Halle has a ground-level entrance and exit. A ramp and an elevator (140 x 150 cm) are available in the building. All exhibition rooms and passageways are wheelchair accessible. The walkway outside, along the documenta Halle, has steps.
The doors of the documenta Halle are not automated and therefore cannot be opened automatically. If the main entrance is unmanned, please ring the bell.
The documenta Halle does not have a guidance system for people with visual impairments. Assistance dogs are permitted.
Toilets
A barrier-free toilet is located in the basement. This can be reached by elevator (140 x 150 cm).
Infants
There is a changing table in the accessible toilet in the basement.
