Family day: Immersion in nature

  • Fridericianum

Friedrichsplatz 18, 34117 Kassel

Catherine Opie’s photographs feature portraits of people as well as portraits of mountains and landscapes with lakes and forests. As part of the family day, the Fridericianum education team invites visitors to explore the exhibition to then discover nature in Opie’s pictures with new eyes, perceiving it, for example, as a habitat worth protecting, but also as a place to take pauses from the stress of everyday life and the endless flood of news.

Using various natural materials and inspired by Opie’s unique use of light and color, participants in the subsequent creative workshop interpret natural spaces in their own small works of art—a little takeaway break.

Target audience: Families; children aged 5 and up, accompanied by an adult
Participation fee: 5 Euro
