Family workshop: Beneath layers – in the dream world

Inspired by the works of Portia Zvavahera, the Fridericianum invites families to explore the possibilities of art as a form of personal expression “layer by layer”. A main motif in Zvavahera’s work serves as the thematic basis for the workshop: the colorful depiction of dreams and the memories and emotions associated with them.

After initial experimental work with layers of paint and wax, participants engage with their own dreams. Using techniques of application and removal, as well as the superimposition of different layers of paint, they transform these memories and images into their own works of art.
