Creative workshop for adults: Bodies and space—traces, scales, movements

  • Fridericianum

Friedrichsplatz 18, 34117 Kassel

Inspired by the exhibition by US-American sculptor Charles Ray, this creative workshop explores the interaction between the body, space, and material. After a group tour, the participants use various exercises to explore their own bodies in relation to the sculptures, experiment with different postures, and then create plaster casts of individual body parts. The resulting impressions are transformed into small sculptures, which are presented in the space and ultimately reconnected performatively with the participants’ own bodies. The goal of the workshop is to experience one’s own body not only as something personal, but also as a form, a scale, a material, and a moving sculpture.

Target audience: Adults.
Workshop fee: 5 Euro per person.
