- Fridericianum
Studiowerkstatt
Friedrichsplatz 18, 34117 KasselGlowesabend is upon us – for this Northern Hesse tradition, children (Glöwes) dress up as little Santas or heavenly creatures on December 6th to go from door to door reciting a poem or singing a song for which they are then rewarded with sweets. The treat bag called “Glowesbeutel” serves as a receptacle for all the collected treasures.
In collaboration with the local business association City Kaufleute Kassel e. V. and the Future Space, the Fridericianum extends an invitation to get creative: With rubber stamps, textiles, colors, and printing techniques the participants can let their imagination run free and design their own individual Glowesbeutel, provided by the City-Kaufleute, at different workshop stations.
The Glowesbeutel is not only pretty to look at: On Glowesabend (December 6, 2025) from 4 to 9 pm, the children can use it as a ticket for the KVG busses and trains. One accompanying adult can ride along!
Admission is free. No registration required.
For children aged 5 and up. They must be accompanied by an adult.
On Saturday, December 6, 2025, a separate workshop for children aged 8 and up takes place at the Future Space from 1 to 4 pm. More information on the event and this year’s photo contest can be found on the Future Space website.
