documenta und Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is a non-profit organization supported by the City of Kassel and the State of Hesse as shareholders. It is responsible for the documenta exhibition, which takes place every five years, the Fridericianum, the documenta archiv, the documenta Institute and the documenta Halle.
documenta und Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is looking for an innovative and responsible personality with a passion for contemporary art, sound knowledge of communication and practical and methodological skills.
Your activities will include
Supporting and assisting the head of the press department
Coordination of all press and material enquiries
Preparing and providing information and photos for journalists
Editing target group-specific texts such as press releases, statements and wordings
Initiating press contacts
Supporting the preparation and implementation of press conferences/events
Coordination of interviews and other press appointments
Coordination of TV shoots
Your profile:
University degree or completed training in a relevant subject area
Several years of professional experience in the press sector, ideally in a cultural organization
Knowledge of the German press and media landscape and its representatives
Interest in and knowledge of the contemporary art and culture scene
A keen interest in cultural policy debates and a keen sense for politically sensitive topics and their appropriate, differentiated linguistic communication
Confident handling of common Microsoft Office applications and CMS
careful, reliable, independent and team-oriented way of working
very good written and spoken German and English skills
social, communicative and intercultural skills, creativity, resilience and perseverance

Your weekly working hours will be 40 hours. The place of work is Kassel. This is a temporary position until 31.12.2027.
