Graphic Coordination and Design documenta 16 (f/d/m)
documenta und Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is a non-profit organization supported by the City of Kassel and the State of Hesse as shareholders. It is responsible for the documenta exhibition, which takes place every five years, the Fridericianum, the documenta archiv, the documenta Institute and the documenta Halle.
documenta und Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is looking for a creative personality with a strong organizational talent to contribute to the diverse tasks of the Graphics and Design department.
Your activities will include
Managing and coordinating the visual design process for documenta 16 within the Communications department
Adaptation of the visual design to all required media (digital and print)
Independent conception and graphic implementation of the required communication formats in close coordination with the Communications department (including exhibition brochures, social media postings, screen design)
Transferring the visual design to the exhibition production and infrastructure (e.g. signage system)
Design, final artwork and media-compatible preparation of data for print and digital formats
Acquisition and management of service providers in the field of graphic design (e.g. printers and agencies)
Collaboration on the merchandise product range
Support with budget and time planning
Your profile:
Completed training or studies in graphic design, visual communication, media design or a comparable field
Experience in project management
Confident handling of Adobe Creative Suite as well as other tools such as CapCut, Lightroom or Canva, XD, Sketch, InVision, Blender, Figma
Experience in creating content for various channels (print & digital)
Experience in the practical implementation of print products
AI and 3D graphic design, product design an advantage
Experience in UX/UI experience for digital formats (e.g. website and apps)
Strong creative flair and high aesthetic standards in the context of contemporary art and cultural communication
Sensitivity for inclusive design and experience with the basics of barrier-free visual communication
Independent and structured way of working
Very good written and spoken German and English skills
Social, communicative and intercultural skills, accuracy, creativity, resilience and perseverance

Your weekly working hours will be 40 hours. The place of work is Kassel. This is a temporary position until 31.12.2027.
