documenta und Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is a non-profit organization supported by the City of Kassel and the State of Hesse as shareholders. It is responsible for the documenta exhibition, which takes place every five years, for Fridericianum, documenta archiv and documenta Halle.
documenta und Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is looking for a responsible person with a passion for communication in the context of contemporary art.
Your tasks
Co-development and implementation of our communications strategy in close coordination with the Head of Communications, Artistic Director and Management Board
Development and management of the international press center of documenta 16 in close coordination with the Head of Communications, the Artistic Director and the Management Board
Appreciative management of the press team
Preparation and briefing of the artistic team for interviews and public events
Contact for media representatives and the public
Writing and coordinating press releases, statements and speeches
Organization and implementation of press conferences, interviews and media events
Crisis communication and monitoring of media coverage
Maintenance and expansion of the media network
Your profile
Degree in communications, journalism, political science, public relations or comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in press and public relations work
Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English
Sound knowledge of current art and cultural discourses and social debates
Confident demeanor, even under time pressure or in critical situations
Media affinity, diplomatic instinct and strategic thinking
Experience with social media and digital communication channels an advantage
We offer:
We offer you an interesting and responsible position in an internationally active team in the arts and culture sector. You will receive an appropriate salary in line with your qualifications, based on the TVöD. Your weekly working hours will be 40 hours. The place of work is Kassel. This is a temporary position until December 31, 2027.
We subsidize employees' JobTicket subscriptions for the purchase of public transport season tickets to the extent of so-called Deutschlandtickets.
