documenta and Museum Fridericianum gGmbH are seeking, to start as soon as possible for documenta 16, a Media Creation / Print Specialist (m/f/d) for the Communications and Marketing Department.
This full-time position is a fixed-term contract ending on October 31, 2027.
documenta and Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is a nonprofit organization supported by the City of Kassel and the State of Hesse as shareholders. Its responsibilities include the documenta exhibition, which takes place every five years, the Fridericianum, the documenta archive, and the documenta Halle.
As an internationally renowned exhibition of contemporary art, documenta stands for discourse, diversity, and social relevance.
We are seeking a dedicated individual for the cross-media design of documenta 16.
Your Responsibilities:
- Implementing layouts for brochures, catalogs, flyers, and posters in accordance with the documenta 16 corporate design
- Creating graphics, advertising banners, and visual assets for websites, newsletters, and social media channels
- Technical preparation, review, and finalization of print files, as well as coordination with printing companies
- Professional image optimization, retouching, and compositing to ensure a consistent brand identity for documenta 16
- Ensuring consistency of documenta 16’s corporate design across all channels
- Support in the development and implementation of the cross-media campaign for documenta 16 in close coordination with the heads of Communications, Marketing, and Digital
Your Profile:
- Successfully completed training as a digital and print media designer, a degree in communication design/graphic design, or a comparable qualification
- Solid practical knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- A structured and self-directed work style with an eye for current design trends
- Expertise in motion design, video editing (e.g., Premiere Pro / After Effects), or web design (HTML/CSS) is a plus
- Creativity and a sense of responsibility, as well as strong communication and intercultural skills
- Enjoyment of process-oriented, collaborative work as part of a large, international team
- Interest in art and cultural discourse as well as social debates
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
