25 years of documenta City of Kassel - Anniversary tour program to the documenta outdoor artworks

In order to emphasize the deep connection between the city of Kassel and documenta, even between the exhibition years, the city was officially given the name documenta as of March 19, 1999. Since then, it has been called “documenta Stadt Kassel” on town signs, official stationery and in many other places.
This event will celebrate its 25th anniversary on March 19, 2024. To mark the occasion, documenta und Museum Fridericianum gGmbH, together with the City of Kassel, is offering a multilingual guided tour program of the outdoor documenta artworks from Tuesday 19 to Sunday 24 March 2024. The program will kick off with Lord Mayor Sven Schoeller and Andreas Hoffmann.

Large, dark obelisk with a golden inscription on an urban square, surrounded by modern buildings with many windows. The inscription reads: "I WAS A FREMDLING AND YOU HAVE BEHIND ME." Several people walk or stand around the artwork, some trees line the square.
