Following the increasingly extensive catalogs of the documenta, Roger M. Buergel and Ruth Noack returned to the compact handbook format of the early editions in 2007. A short foreword by the curator duo is followed by a richly illustrated chronological index of the exhibited works, each accompanied by a short text - beginning with Persian miniatures from the 14th century and ending with the most recent works in the exhibition created in 2007.
