The short guide is entirely dedicated to the artists and presents all participants in an illustrated contribution, each of which was written by one of the documenta 13 agents in close collaboration with the artists themselves. The illustrations, which are as diverse as the projects, are contributed by the artists - independent visual statements that range from photographs and drawings to notes. Narrative introductions to the various sites combine facts with key ideas and concepts by Carolyn Christov-Barkargiev that are linked to the respective locations.
