The central publication of documenta 14 appears in the form of a reader, and thus echoes the various readings of this concept. In essays, allegories, poems, historical legal documents, and other hybrid literary forms, the documenta 14 Reader explores the discursive concerns of the project: guilt and gift, the coloniality of power, economies of exhibition, and languages (and other currencies) without remnants. As a critical anthology that reflects on history in order to gain a clearer view of the present and reimagine the future, the reader brings together specially commissioned contributions and seminal texts. The series of images illustrate the broad framework - both temporally and geographically - set by the historical artists and protagonists of documenta 14.
