The café in the Fridericianum, which opened in 2019, is located in the neoclassical foyer of the Fridericianum and comprises the rotunda on the first floor, an outdoor area under the stylish portico and, in the summer months, an extended café terrace facing Friedrichsplatz. It offers a regionally oriented selection of drinks and predominantly vegan hearty dishes as well as cakes and pastries.
The historic rotunda was redesigned in 2023 by artist Kerstin Brätsch and occupied by the site-specific intervention MIMIKRY. The expansive installation is both a work of art and a place to stay, creating an extraordinary setting for special events.
The portico supported by six pillars and the café terrace on Kassel's central Friedrichsplatz enable receptions and events to be held outdoors.
As a culinary partner, the Café im Fridericianum helps to put together an individual food and drink menu for each event.
