Founded in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2002, the non-profit artists’ collective Britto Arts Trust is featured at Asia Now in Paris presenting their works Palan, a traditional Bengali vegetable garden, and Pak Ghor, a family kitchen-dining room. The outdoor kitchen and the garden were already focal meeting points at documenta 15 bringing people together to cook together, tell stories, enjoy mealtimes, and organize events. Over 100 days the different cuisines of the nations based Kassel were showcased. Asia Now will see artists from the collective in attendance, cooking with visitors, sharing meals, and exchanging ideas.
About Asia Now
Asia Now is both a curated platform featuring a selection of international galleries showcasing artists from across Asia and its diaspora and also a public program curated by guest curators comprising site-specific installations, performances, conversations, and workshops. The exhibition’s 10th edition will be curated by the curatorial collective RADICANTS founded by Nicolas Bourriaud. The exhibition combines the sacred and the profane transforming the Monnaie de Paris site into a living ceremony. Asia Now Paris runs during Paris Art Week from 17 to 20 October 2024.
