lumbung Kassel

In August and September, the Kassel project Connecting Ecosystems, launched as part of documenta 15, will be hosting a range of events, concerts, and an exhibition. The initiative aims to use the program to continue the practice of lumbung, connect Kassel’s ecological and socio-cultural scene with artistic collectives from Bangladesh and Indonesia, and promote dialogue on sustainability and ecological and social justice through artistic collaboration and community projects.

Two of the 14 lumbung inter-lokal members will be hosted in Kassel: artists from the Britto Arts Trust collective from Bangladesh and artists from the Jatiwangi art Factory project from Indonesia.

As was already the case during documenta 15, this summer will also be about eating, making music and playing together. Alongside several workshops, a “Kitchen for All”, and the exhibition at Werkstatt Soziokulturzentrum Kassel, there will also be a concert by the psych-soul/funk group Lair from Indonesia in the Boreal beer garden at Kulturzentrum Schlachthof.
