Early February 2024 will see the performance Where Your Ideas Become Civic Actions (100 Hours Reading “The Origins of Totalitarianism”) by artist and activist Tania Bruguera being staged at Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin.
In a collective reading from the book Origins of Totalitarianism by theorist Hannah Arendt, readers and audience will engage with central themes of our coexistence for four days and nights, based on Arendt’s history and theory of totalitarianism. Together, they will reflect on and discuss topics such as freedom and democracy, authoritarianism and populism, political thought and power structures.
From February 7–11, 2024 Tania Bruguera’s performance will be held at Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart in Berlin. The museum will be open to the public throughout the 100-hour event.
