Workshop: Design your own "Glowesbeutel" Saturday, November 30, 2024, 1–5 pm

“Glowesabend” is upon us – for this Northern Hesse tradition, children dress up as little Santas or heavenly companions on December 6th to go from door to door reciting a poem or singing a song for which they are then rewarded with sweets. The treat bag called “Glowesbeutel” serves as a receptacle for all the collected treasures.

In collaboration with the local business association City Kaufleute Kassel e. V. and the Future Space, the Fridericianum extends an invitation to get creative: With rubber stamps, textiles, colors, and printing techniques the participants can let their imagination run free and design their own individual “Glowesbeutel” at different workshop stations.

The Glowesbeutel is not only pretty to look at: On Glowesabend (December 6, 2024) from 4 to 9 pm, the children can use it as a ticket for the KVG busses and trains. One accompanying adult can ride along!

The plain Glowesbeutel can be picked up for free at the Fridericianum and the Future Space or in the participating shops in Kassel. The project is being generously supported by: Quartier Wilhelmsstraße, Gothaer Versicherungen Alexander Wild, KVG, Kassel Marketing, Roberts, Knax, KSV Hessen Kassel, Wirtschaftsförderung Region Kassel und Stadt Kassel.

Admission is free. No registration required.
For children aged 5 and up. They must be accompanied by an adult.
