The collaborations between initiatives to strengthen material cycles, which were also expanded for documenta 15, continue to work intensively. In 2022, “Materialkreisläufe” highlighted opportunities and potential for documenta 15, strengthened networks, and thus paved the way for practical and active material distribution.
On May 25, 2024, Materialverteilung Kassel e.V. invites you to an interdisciplinary exchange of experiences on circular planning, building, and design in practice at the symposium “ReUse & Upcycling in Construction and Creative Industries” at the Museum Fridericianum. In the morning, the focus will be on planning, architecture, and the construction industry. In cooperation with Baustoff- und Materialbörse gGmbH, a warehouse is being built in the port of Kassel, where topics such as non-destructive dismantling, the integration of reused components into the design process, and consideration of subsequent dismantling will be given a permanent place. In the afternoon, the focus will be on the expansion of material cycles in the field of art and culture. After five keynote speeches, the focus will be on exchange among participants and with the speakers.
Saturday, May 25, 2024, 10.30 a.m.–6 p.m. at the Museum Fridericianum
Participation is free of charge, but donations to Materialverteilung Kassel e.V. are requested. Registration is requested (by Sunday, May 19, 2024, by email to kontakt@materialverteilung.org).
